About The Author

If you are new, here is a little background about me. I am a data junkie at my core. But I will admit, my day job as a farmer and cattle rancher takes up most of my time, and is also where many of my perspectives come from — in the day-to-day of the real world. I studied Agribusiness and Economics in my undergrad, with some graduate work in economics as well. There was a period of my life and career when I was a full-time analyst, diving deep into data all day, every day. Charts and graphs seemed…. fun? (Odd thing really.. But I ran with it.)

I never sought to be a data connoisseur, though. I took an internship working as a global trade analyst in college for a consulting firm, because I was fascinated with global agricultural markets. I ended up working doing market analytics and research for a few years for both private companies and the university publishing reports and agricultural budgets, trade, and market research. That led me to a career in market analytics for a time, but then I transitioned back into a family agricultural production operation as the opportunity came years later.

And here begins AgriValues. My love of data, looking at the global picture and scope, and seeing how the latest data trends impact the individual producer, to the trader, or to the consumer, will always be one of my first loves. Each week I take insights from my time scouring the latest news, USDA reports, trade data, and a whole lot more, to try to see what insights are trending, useful to know, with key insights.

What to Expect in 2026 📊

Each week, AgriValues will update with the latest data available. Since most data sets release on various schedules, and as many are provided by the USDA and various governmental agencies, there are at times delays or less-frequent releases of differing data sets and reports. I will try to have them out in a timely manner, highlighting key metrics and trends that play critical roles in the Ag Economy. 🌽

Here are a few exciting things that will be new for 2026.

Each month we will have a monthly market report available for download at www.agrivalues.com. This report includes an in-depth analysis of the current state of the market, highlighted with key graphics, data trends, charts, and visuals to help see the clearest picture possible of an oftentimes murky market.

We will begin with some of the key global and U.S. protein markets. Notably: Beef, Pork, Poultry, and Dairy, and then we will begin to release our grains and feedstuffs reports as well. Stay tuned for an exact rollout schedule, free first-editions, and discounts for new subscribers.

Alongside our new monthly market reports, AgriValues will aslo be releasing a weekly trade snapshot email that is available to subscribers. This snapshot highlights key trade details, with notable movements, short and long-term trends, and a few highlights for the week for key meat and grains markets.
